General Club Noticeboard

On Friday 8th December we hosted our annual Christmas AmAm at Lingdale which saw one hundred players arrive for a shotgun start. The event began in frost conditions with a light covering on snow on the greens but as the sun came out this did begin to disapear on the majority of the greens. The results from the competition were:

1st Place – Ben Ashurst, James Holt, Ken Marshall & Scott Middleton – Lingdale & Longcliffe – 86points

2nd Place – Geoff Ferrar, Lewis Ferrar, Keith Ferrar & Carl Nicholls – Cosby & Scraptoft – 85points

3rd Place – Stewart Fairweather, Graham Bilsland, Fred Summers & Mick Warren – Stonebridge & Burton On Trent – 80points

4^th Place -Mike Calow, Keith Fairlie, Luke Clarke & Rob Clarke – Kirby Muxloe and Lingdale – 79points l/r

Thanks to everybody who supported the competition and we look forward to welcoming you all back to Lingdale to play in one of our Opens in 2018 which can now be booked on the club website.

On Thursday 2nd November we hosted our Ladies Winter Open which started with a bang at 10am. On a dry but overcast day we had 22 teams competing in what was a great day for the Golf Club and we hope all visitors. The results from the day were:

1st Place - Judy Arden, Liz Walker-Smith, Rita Fricker & Sarah Bowler (All Lingdale) - 83points

2nd Place - Eithne Martin, Trish Galasinki, Teresea Fitzpatrick and Jane Thorpe (Diss, Whetstone and Kibworth) - 80points

3rd Place - Rita Watts, Anne Knight, Lorraine Cook and Yem Pham (Hinckley and Shirley) - 79points

4th Place - Christine Geschke, Kathy Jex, Val Oswin and Sue Pallett (All Lingdsle) - 77points l/r

On Thursday 28th September the Seniors Open AmAm competition took place at Lingdale Golf Club with 104 people participating. The event was hotly contested with a number of good scores particularly on a golf course which was playing long following on from the heavy overnight rain.

The prize winners were:

1st Place - Richard Tuckwell, Ray Holder, Mick Royall & Steve Rixson (All Branston Golf & Country Club) - 84points

2nd Place - Gerald Brooks, Andy Allden, John Bellamy & Akhtar Sehmi (All Beedles Lake) - 83points

3rd Place - Stewart Whitehead, Steve Evans, Steve Cockayne & Martin Cockayne (All Ruddington Grange) - 82points

4th Place - Bob Carson, John Knight, John Copeman & Ian Rayworth (All Burton On Trent Golf Club) - 81points
