General Club Noticeboard

On Thursday 24th August we hosted the Festival Week Seniors AmAm.

The competition was again well supported with twenty teams from a number of different golf clubs being represented. 

The winners of the competition were:

1^st Place – Ian Jacob, Martin Reay, David Wood & Alan Evans (All Atherstone) – 89points

2^nd Place – Alan Tubb, Les Hopewell, Ian Storer & Andrew Sewell (All Rushcliffe) – 85points

3^rd Place -David Lay, Paul Neeson, Terry Hayes & Paul Deevey (All Lingdale) – 80points

4^th Place – Robert Kershaw, Kev Bradford, Chris Jenkins & Gareth Leyshon (All Atherstone) – 80points l/r

On Wednesday 23rd August we commenced our annual Festival Week with a Texas Scramble.

The competition was well supported with forty teams entering and despite an overcast start to the morning, the sun quickly burned through ensuring the competition was played in glorious sunshine.

The results from the competition were:

1st Place - Phil Downing, Dave Watson, Jeff Mee & Bob Smith (All Ormonde Fields) - 50.4

2nd Place - Carl McManus, Paige McManus, Niki Arnold & David Lay (All Lingdale) - 55.05

3rd Place - Darrel Stoten, Neil Jarvis, Neil Armson & Brendan Carr (All Kirby Muxloe) - 55.15

4th Place - Martin Hall, William Clarke, David Ramsay & Ray Gaffney (All Belton Park) - 55.2

On Friday 5th May, we hosted our annual Ladies Over 55’s Open.

The weather conditions were better than we have experienced during the early part of the season but scoring proved difficult.

The winners of the competition on the day were:

1st Place - Suzanne Sylvester, Ellen Roe, Roz McDonald and Julie Howes - 76points - All Overstone Park

2nd Place - Fran Jelly, Jenny Woodland, Karen Latter and Val Glenton - 71points - Cosby and Kibworth

3rd Place - Pauline Soar, Gini Whitehead, Helen Bone and Jane Smeeton - 67points - All Ruddington Grange

4th Place - Anita Cordery, Sue Pawson, Anna Fray and Jane Ross - 66points - All Elton Forze

On Wednesday 2nd November, we hosted our annual Ladies Winter Open.

The weather conditions although blustery were much better than the previous day but scoring still proved difficult.

The winners of the competition on the day were:

1st Place - Jackie Wilson, Carole Stothard, Louise Barrett & Helen Long (Belton Park & Belton Woods) - 77points

2nd Place - Lorraine Charles, Sheila Plant, Sue Hargreaves & Jill Woodford (Lingdale & Scraptoft) - 73points

3rd Place - Christine O'Neil, Julia Dunkley, Sue Barkes & Ruth Palmer (Kibworth) - 70points

4th Place - Barbara Perkins, Sheila Godber, Jame Smeeton & Sue Green (Rushcliffe & Ruddington) - 70points
