HARD LUCK AND CONGRATULATIONS!

As many of you will know, our Managing Secretary Terry Walker was nominated by club members in the “Golf Club Manager of The Year” competition organised by the Golf Club Managers Association to recognise managers who have made outstanding contributions to their golf clubs over the past 12 to 18 months.  Terry reached the final shortlist of six and at the recent GCMA AGM was awarded the runner up position.  Peter Johns of Eaton Golf Club in Norfolk took the honours.

In a quote to this website, Terry said " Whilst I'm a little disappointed not to have won, I do recognise that this is a wonderful achievement so early in my career and I feel privileged to have been able to take part in this process. The support from colleagues, members and the Management Committee at Lingdale has been overwhelming".

On behalf of us all I want to congratulate Terry for an amazing achievement for someone who has been a golf club Managing Secretary for less than two years.
